Texas Rockers Short Film Premieres Online

A New Chapter for Texas Reggae

San Antonio, TX — March 25, 2026 — The Texas reggae movement takes center stage this week with the official online release of Texas Rockers, a short film that captures the spirit, struggle, and sound of reggae culture across the Lone Star State. The film premieres Wednesday on the SgtRemoTV YouTube channel, offering audiences worldwide an inside look at a growing musical movement often overlooked in mainstream media.

Texas Rockers is a culturally-driven short film featuring real-life reggae artists, musicians, DJs, and venues from across Texas. Rather than telling a fictional story, the film immerses viewers in the authentic experiences of the people building the scene—highlighting the passion, perseverance, and community behind the music.

From late-night studio sessions to live performances and behind-the-scenes moments, Texas Rockers showcases the raw energy and dedication it takes to sustain reggae culture in Texas. The film serves not only as entertainment, but as a statement piece—positioning Texas as a serious and emerging force in the global reggae landscape.

“This film is about giving the culture a voice,” says creator Sgt. Remo. “It’s about documenting what’s really happening on the ground in Texas reggae and showing the world that this movement is alive, growing, and here to stay.”

The online premiere marks the next phase of the Texas Rockers rollout, following its initial screening and early festival submissions. By releasing the film digitally, the team aims to expand its reach and connect directly with fans, media outlets, and cultural tastemakers.

Media outlets, bloggers, and content creators are encouraged to cover the release, request interviews, and explore collaboration opportunities. Texas Rockers is more than a film—it’s an entry point into a larger cultural movement rooted in music, identity, and independent artistry.

De Texas a Bogotá reflects Sgt. Remo’s evolving sound and his deep connection to Latin America’s reggae and urban music scenes. While rooted in conscious reggae, the album confidently expands into cumbia, dancehall, afrobeats, and roots reggae, showcasing a diverse yet cohesive musical journey shaped by collaboration and travel.

Media Listen/Download

Six of the tracks were released as singles ahead of the album, building anticipation across multiple regions. The full release also includes two previously unreleased songs, offering new material that completes the project’s narrative arc.

The album opens with “Cumbia Sabrosita,” a lively cumbia collaboration featuring Javier Alerta (Bogotá), Carolina Huertas (Bogotá), and Ras Levy (Mexico City), followed by “Cumbia Galáctica,” a futuristic cumbia track featuring Zelen (San Antonio, TX). Dancehall energy takes center stage on “She Wine All the Time” and “La Número 1,” both featuring Haffid Dancehall (Bogotá) and Ras Levy.

Time Don’t Stop brings an afrobeats influence to the album, delivering a reflective message on perseverance and growth. “Luchar Para Sobrevivir” continues the international collaboration with Haffid Dancehall and Ras Levy, while “Gimme the Roots” featuring Alma De León (Bogotá) and Ras Levy anchors the project firmly in roots reggae. The album closes with “Give Thanks to Jah in This Time,” a spiritually grounded track emphasizing gratitude, faith, and unity.

With De Texas a Bogotá, Sgt. Remo solidifies his role as a bridge between scenes, cultures, and sounds—uniting Texas and Colombia through music that celebrates movement, collaboration, and conscious expression.
