The Texas Reggae Gathering
Remo Fest is Texas' grassroots reggae and sound system festival, built by the community and for the community. Now entering its 5th year and its 3rd year at Hill Country Caribbean Vybez in Blanco, Texas, the festival has grown from a small birthday gathering into one of the state's premier celebrations of reggae music and culture.
The story of Remo Fest began with a tradition. Every year, Sgt. Remo would invite musician friends, selectors, DJs, artists, and supporters to celebrate his birthday with an evening of live music and positive vibes. As the years passed, the gathering continued to grow. More musicians traveled from across Texas, reggae fans made the trip to celebrate, and a close-knit birthday party evolved into a festival dedicated to bringing together the entire Texas reggae community.
Today, Remo Fest serves as a meeting ground for reggae lovers from across the Lone Star State. While the festival has proudly hosted internationally acclaimed artists such as Ranking Joe, Chezidek, and Lutan Fyah, its true mission has always been to showcase the incredible talent being cultivated right here in Texas.
From live reggae bands and singers to DJs, selectors, producers, promoters, vendors, visual artists, photographers, content creators, and dedicated reggae supporters, Remo Fest shines a spotlight on every corner of the culture. Artists and attendees travel from San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Corpus Christi, the Rio Grande Valley, and beyond to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the music that unites us.
The festival is also home to the powerful King Remo Sound System, which has provided the soundtrack and foundation for the event since its inception. Inspired by the traditions of Jamaican sound system culture, King Remo Sound System helps create the immersive bass-heavy experience that has become a signature part of Remo Fest.
Held at the beautiful Hill Country Caribbean Vybez venue, Remo Fest combines live performances, camping, Caribbean food, vendors, and family-friendly community vibes in a unique outdoor setting. With wide-open spaces, fresh Hill Country air, and spectacular night skies, the festival offers an experience that feels both intimate and unforgettable—all within a short drive of Austin and San Antonio.
